While athletes struggle with the wind, cups dance nimbly with it …

70.3 IRONMAN Bahrain, 2015
Honestly, I have to admit that I have never been at a race until the very end of the run. Usually following the pros gives our personal race day the rhythm. This time in Bahrain things have been different. Due to the race course, the distances one has to bridge without any special permits are far, you have to decide what you want to achieve on a day like this, if you don’t want to miss out on everything. The decision was not that hard to make as there were athletes of ours participating. No rush after the pros so!
Advertising, filming, posting etc. usually takes place around the pros. Even though triathlon is what it is due to the fact that there are all these committed age groupers who are ready to fight it all through whatever pain it takes.

For a filmmaker it’s not an easy task to cover this process because beauty and grace get often lost, if you are struggling, if you are in pain, be it physically or mentally.
I tried to use my camera in a way that shows the inner strength of all these athletes at the very tail of the field. I have to admit, the wind helped me a lot.

Susann

Susann

Susann is the biest prototype and head of the team. She is Austrian, has studied medicine, meaning she is a medical doctor and the Biesters' alpha wolf. Susann continuously produces new ideas, is strong in making concepts and is practically always ON FIRE. Without her BIESTMILCH wouldn't be where and what it is today, and anyway - not possible.
