How our new ad series was born »Art not being afraid of Advertising«

It took me quite some time to find the path we are currently exploring. Since the beginning of Biestmilch I was unhappy with our ads. They have been arbitrary, we wanted to be different, but did not exactly know how to do this. The results have been fairly mediocre and far too intentional.

At the beginning of this year something in my head made click... I just had browsed through my book of painter artist Ed Ruscha once and again, and again I thought that I want to realize something similar. To contact him was my first idea which I discarded within seconds. Serious artists will never align with businesses and especially not with a small and unknown one such as ours.
From experience I knew that I won't be able to realize any idea if hadn't the people with the skills and inspirations to do so. But who would be crazy enough and join me with the idea to bring art into sports advertising.

Then it happened that Isabel, an old friend of mine since the early eighties appeared in my mind. I know she was the one who could realize what I had in my mind. By then, I had already played around with words, tried to find lines with a poetic touch. But still I was hesitant to contact her afraid how she might react, probably one reason why I didn't think of her long before. And moreover, I obviously needed the time for my idea to mature.

Meeting on the Red Carpet of Experiences

Frankfurt Eishalle, July, 2012
We had lots of work, lots of fun, and lots of Biests... the whole enterprise was a huge success with Chris MACCA McCormack, Andi Boecherer, Sebastian Kienle and Yvonne van Vlerken being there. I think it was the best event we had within the frame of an IRONMAN race. Our red and orange tippi was wonderful, the 100 stools we placed there gave the scene a special touch. And the red carpet with the many BBex stories was the icing on the cake. The scenario was awesome.

Welcome all MAC developers to the BIEST BOOSTER Experiment »BBex«

This is probably unknown territory for you, let us therefore give you a brief introduction.
After pondering the idea thoroughly with our developer friends here in Frankfurt we decided to undertake this venture and introduce the BIEST BOOSTER to you first time and exclusively at this year's MACOUN.

The BIEST BOOSTER is actually a tool that can efficiently support you in your work which is in our opinion one of the most stressful and challenging jobs overall. To cut a long story short here is a passage of text to give you a rough idea of the substance and product.

The BIEST BOOSTER is a high-tech product even though it is also a truly natural product. It contains the all natural Biestmilch (bovine colostrum), natural caffeine extract of the guarana fruit and as sweetener stevia from the North and South Amercia plant. The BOOSTER’s matrix is composed of a dextrose derivative called Emdex®. So in the end, what makes the BOOSTER a high-tech product, is the art of combining 4 grams of Biestmilch with 500 mg of Guarana extract into an edible small shape. Biestmilch per se is improving motivation and cognition, it has an antidepressant effect due to its influence on the HPA axis*. The same mode of action turns it into a substance that increases stress resistance and improves immunity. Guarana we assume you are familiar with. Its levels increase smoothly, its efficacy is therefore longer compared to coffee. Studies have shown that Guarana significantly enhances cognition. The combination of both ingredients works perfectly to bridge times of fatigue and cognitive impairment.

Jam Session in the Kitchen

Our Frankfurt event in front of the Eishalle before the Pasta Party has been huge this year. Chris flew in from Davos, Andi came straight from Freiburg, and Yvonne and Sebi had to be there as being racing on Sunday. Beside our BBex promotion signing was especially one of Chris' main jobs.
The Biestmilch crew was busily facilitating and organising. After the event we decided to go back home and cook ourselves instead of going to a restaurant.

Searching for the real face

Currently, we are refurbishing our website thoroughly. It will be a site with different narrative strands. One strand tells the stories of individuals and their affiliation to and passion for Biestmilch. These biographical sketches will be video-based. The first biographical sketch we are currently shooting is the one of triathlon icon Chris McCormack who accompanies us since 2003. He was probably the first athlete who fully understood the so different mode of action of Biestmilch.
