Modulation creates differences

Differences enable perceiving and discerning

An endlessly held note would be completely meaningless. Our ear would not notice it. Not until it is varied = modulation of acoustic waves which then produce speech or music und therefore gain meaning= perception.
Most signals in our every day environment such as notes, light, telephone, radio are based on physical phenomenon that spread over a great distance. Only by modulation are they given the property to transfer information to the receiver.
These kinds of processes also happen in our bodies: biochemical signals, electric and mechanic impulses as well as stimuli by light, become information by modulation. This information manifests itself in cells and organs. Our bodies also differentiate between frequencies, amplitudes and phase shifts.
The point is to get a quantitative phenomenon. This means: How many and what kind of signals reach for example receptor cells with what frequency, amplitude or phase shift. And further….how many and which receptors send signals into the cell all the way to the cell nucleus….etc. etc.

FM and Am: modulation in everyday life

The term modulation usually hits a lack of understanding. Until today I have never really grasped why this is the case. All music and all of our perception are based on the principle of modulation. Anybody who works with music should be familiar with the term.
Frequency and amplitude modulation have been known as FM and AM for quite a while know. Why is it so difficult to adapt this word to biology and medicine? Why is modulation often pushed into the esoteric corner although it is based on down to earth natural science?

The principle of modulation stands for a possibility to influence the activity state of a complex system

Modulation endows physical phenomena with properties like transmission of information. From the modulation of frequency, amplitude and phase emerges melody and rhythm.
In the same way as music is the result of a multitude of modulations, body states as well result out of myriads of same and different signals transmitted and received by millions of senders and receivers. Hereby the mode and power of the signal, frequency and interferences and again their modulation determines the final outcome of a body condition. Body states don't stand for anything else than how we feel: good, bad, nervous, sick, happy, tired etc.,...

For three years now we have referred to Biestmilch as a modulator. Big deal? No, not at all! Because if modulation stands for nothing else than change, then a modulator is something that can make changes in a complex system. So generally speaking: Biestmilch is a substance that influences my condition, because I am definitely complex and there can hardly be a doubt about that! With Biestmilch you simply feel better, can endure more stress, get well quicker, become less sick, age more slowly just to name a few examples.

So Biestmilch does not work by the principle of domino stones that you knock over, as we are normally used to.

The effect in a linear system such as a row of domino stones is highly predictable. In a complex system such as the body of an individual, not even the effect of a thoroughly researched substance like acetylsalicylic (Aspirin) is predictable.
I do believe that is the problem. The confusing circumstances, the unpredictable and the complicated. Complexity is nearly identical to us with confusion, uncertainty and threat. It is not a coincidence that we use the word chaos, even if it is incorrect.
If there were a model in biology or medicine, that could demonstrate and calculate modulation as a method to influence complex systems, then there would be a possibility to observe and measure the changes in behaviour and condition of the system at last. The term of modulation would be given a concrete attribute that it is missing to this day. Modulation would be given the chance to become a therapeutic principle without controversy and Biestmilch as a modulator would be taken seriously.
Biestmilch with its multitude of bioactive molecules is a complex system in itself. It is maybe even the most complete purely biological system modulator ever discovered. At least the various possibilities for application speak for this assumption. Biestmilch carries molecules of all three super-systems of regulation: the nervous system, the immune system and hormones.
