DEFINITION

The term Biestmilch comes from Old High German and describes colostrum or the first milk a cow produces. In specialist literature it is also called bovine colostrum.

BIOLOGY

So Biestmilch is colostrum. The breasts of every female mammal are able to produce Biestmilch. Within 6 days after the birth of the suckling, Biestmilch turns into milk. It loses its characteristics and nature more and more.
Biestmilch contains thousands and thousands of different molecules that are irreplaceable for the communication between all body cells. The majority of the molecules are smaller than protein molecules. These are called peptides.

FUNCTION

Biestmilch works as an entity. To divide it up into its individual parts doesn't help us to better understand it. It influences all regulatory processes within the body. It activates and dampens.
Due to its diverse composition, it modulates the immune system (strengthens and balances) and dampens stress.

QUALITY

In order to get Biestmilch of excellent quality, it shouldn't be older than 48 hours on obtaining. The process of production should be gentle so that the bioactivities of the molecules are maintained.
It shouldn't be treated with preservatives and not be diluted with whey or amino acid concentrates.

FOOD LAW

Biestmilch is a foodstuff of special kind. It is neither fresh milk nor a nutritional supplement. It could be seen as a natural remedy. On could really argue about that. As to its labeling and its promotion, it underlies the food law.

ZOOLOGY

The procreation of many animals is endangered without Biestmilch. Many animals die, others remain sickly their whole life long. Every animal needs at least one big gulp of it to start off life in a healthy way. Which kind of Biestmilch is used doesn't matter. Iguanas, homing pigeons or pigs are fed Biestmilch as a precaution.

PHILOSOPHY

Sent to hell by the one, highly praised by the other. Biestmilch has to endure this even today. On the other hand, it is regarded as a principle of life. On the other, it is a taboo. Our ancestors saw it as manna from heaven or witches' brew. Nowadays we have more or less lost touch with it and regard it skeptically.
