Maybe it all together gives Lucy the balance and energy that a girl like her needs to be successful.<\/p>\n

Lucy<\/a> studied at Medical School Cambridge, and qualified as a medical doctor in Oxford in 2003. Her years as a junior doctor she spend in the oncology at Nottingham City Hospital which motivated her to start a research PhD on kidney cancer in Cambridge in 2009.<\/p>\n

In 2005 her triathlete career got kicked off. “Looking back”, she says, “I had absolutely no idea what I had let myself in for. I found a free training plan on the internet and did every single session on my own without an ipod. All this was intermingled with night shifts, my final post-graduate exam and job applications. I did nearly all of my long runs hungover and all my friends thought I was utterly mad. Crossing that finish line I was completely and utterly elated. I had achieved the impossible, and loved it. Job done! In fact I ended up winning my age group and qualifying for Hawaii, something I only realised when I was looking at the results online at work the next day.\u201d<\/p>\n

This paragraph perfectly describes Lucy\u2019s temperament, motivation and energy.<\/p>\n

And here a few results just to give you an idea what she has achieved already. In 2017 she won IRONMAN Italy, IRONMAN Wales, UK and Staffordshire. She was 3rd on Lanzarote. In 2016 she came in 9th place on Hawaii at the IRONMAN World Championship.<\/p>\n
