Both our families were and are still fairly close.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan has made it. He gained fame for his album artwork \u2013 Lou Reed\u2019s Set The Twilight Feeling and<br \/> The Rolling Stones\u2019s Bridges to Babylon. Now, it happens to him as it happened to many a famous graphic designer after a successful career in advertising. He feels this need to take off for other goals or better different territories.<\/p>\n<p>The old maxim that says \u00bbto become old is to become wise\u00ab not necessarily holds true. That is most likely what Stefan likes to express with his exhibits. The human creature and his\/her relation to the monkey, well, it is a never ending debate about similarities, dominance and equality. Graphic designer<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sagmeister.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Stefan Sagmeister<\/a><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<\/span>obviously feels that monkeys have more to contribute to the men-centered discourse about wisdom than we think.<br \/> Collectively, they spell out \u00bbeveryone always thinks they are right\u00ab<br \/> and form part of Sagmeister\u2019s global project: <strong>\u00bbThings I have learned in<br \/> my life so far\u00ab<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sagmeister designed the 30ft<br \/> creations as part of The Six Cities Design Festival that kicked off in<br \/> Scotland on May 17.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/biest-blog.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/2007\/06\/06\/monkey.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"Monkey\" alt=\"Monkey\" src=\"http:\/\/biest-blog.typepad.com\/biest_blog\/images\/2007\/06\/06\/monkey.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"199\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The inflatables were erected in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness,<br \/> Aberdeen, Dundee and Stirling as part of the three-and-a-half-week<br \/> festival designed to illustrate the importance of design and<br \/> architecture in Scotland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The series will be featured in his forthcoming book due to be released<br \/> later this year, showcasing the designer\u2019s work from the past four<br \/> years.
