Since the very beginning of our company the BIEST accompanies us. It was one of the few things in our 14 years old eventful history that underwent only minor changes. But how we used it changed several times over the years. We obviously were not certain how to handle the BIEST accordingly to its being.<\/p>\n

the BIEST on the hot asphalt of Alii Drive in Kona, Hawaii… the remains of a year’s time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Today we know that this has to do with its special character, which is strong, pushes itself in the foreground, does not like to subordinate itself and is rather versatile. Regardless of its difficult character it has always been a symbol liked by people all around the globe.\u00a0
Today it seems like a solid glue that holds together our community that is spread over long distances and all ages.<\/p>\n

the BIEST is a very transparent lucid being that loves the world and its people.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It reflects by 100% our mindset. But this we only know today. We have not been aware of its wide scope when we chose the BIEST as our logo and front figure.
I have been asked so many times what it is and what it stands for and I have been always reluctant to answer this question. Because in the end it is up to you to give the BIEST its meaning. It is I think the BIEST’s strength that it allows you to see it your way. Its surface is blank and waits to be colored by you.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is what I have to say to the above cited question.<\/p>\n

Last but not least I can tell you what my briefing for the graphic designers was like. I wanted them to create a being that didn\u2019t belong to any specific world, a homeless being, that due to its homelessness was open and free to move, to discover, to explore. This was how the BIEST was born, out of a feeling of vagueness, closeness and aloofness at the same time, a creature made up of contradictions as it is the world we live in and the world we are.<\/p>\n

Now I leave you to your own devices to think about the BIEST and what it means to you!<\/p>\n
