In 2002 Biestmilch was in Roth. It was the first triathlon event in its short life.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Roth<\/a> is the race that seems to have always been there as long as there is triathlon, only IRONMAN Hawaii has got more myths entwining around its name. The 30th birthday was celebrated with big emotions. As long as I know Roth – and this is since 2002 -Roth has always been fond of the big gestures.<\/p>\n

This year I had two good reason to go there. Fist of all Biestmilch girl power was racing: Rachel Joyce<\/a>, Yvonne van Vlerken<\/a> and Rebekah Keat<\/a>. Secondly, my close friend Chris McCormack<\/a> – now the Challenge\u2019s figurehead – was there too.
On the Tuesday before race day I gathered all Biestmilch women power \ud83d\ude09 around us to discuss topics such as women in the sport and professional sport, can it be healthy etc. Siri Lindley<\/a> with her incredible expertise and charisma gave the group a real spicy touch.<\/p>\n

Bek still confident that she will have a good race. Unfortunately things turned out to be different.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Thanks to Herwig Steiner and Philipp Krebs we were able to record this event. The technical challenge was huge with recording the sound of 5 voices and 7 cameras shooting the pictures. Now the postproduction is yet another big challenge. It needs some time to get this footage tamed.<\/p>\n

With Philipp we are lucky to have another amazing professional with many talents in our small team.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On race day I hided on the bike course after the \u201eSolar Berg\u201c to get a few shots. Watching the girls in this good position made me happy. Till Schenk<\/a>, commentator in Roth last year, passed by and stopped to pick up some BIEST BOOSTERS.<\/a><\/p>\n

Till was desperate for a BOOSTER. We met on the bike course, not an easy task in such a huge field.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Unfortunately, it was not Rebekah\u2019s day, but for Rachel and Yvonne it could not been a much better day, especially for Yvonne as she is still struggling with a painful should after her bike accident a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

On the run course I pushed myself to Rhein-Main-Donau Canal to shoot another couple of picts. There I met Lothar Leder. All my due respect to him to race the whole distance. As soon as we knew the results we disappeared from the scene, Sophie and Fannie, my border terrier girls and Arne, my partner, who took care of the girls, thank you!!<\/p>\n

It was a hot day down at the Canal. Bystanders had a hard time too, sometimes falling into agony.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

By the way I love the bystander role, I think it suits me \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Finally the results: Rachel came in 2nd, Yvonne 4th, Till beat Challenge CEO Felix Walchsh\u00f6fer and senior Lothar crossed the finish line 49th overall. Congratulations!<\/p>\n
