The pure loneliness of the Airport road<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Utah is a special place. It appears so American and it appears so different. Already at the landing on the tiny Airport of St. George that knows only 2 destinations Denver and Saltlake City, you feel pulled into the bizarre and thrilling desert world. In the middle of nowhere in the pitch darkness we tried to find our hotel, not easy after a journey of rather consuming 24 hours, could have reached Australia in this time!
Exhausted at\u00a011pm we arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn. The town of St. George was deeply asleep already. The clocks in this place seem to turn slower than we are used to in the US. We grabbed 2 beers at the gasoline station close by and tried to cool down and plan the next day.<\/p>\n

Frogs in their mating phase are in a trance like state and easy to shoot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The deer is not shy at all. Never I was looking into their beautiful dark eyes so closely.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Next morning we drove to the famous Zion National Park. We haven\u2019t been disappointed. The pictures tell it all. The area reminds of the movies in which the white conquerers chase the Red Indians from the homeland. The landscape is iron-red and the thought of blood drenching the earth occasionally pops up. Today the population is mainly Mormone. They came to Utah around 1850. We were received warmly, \u00a0the people are very open and helpful. You feel at home immediately.<\/p>\n

And the race<\/strong>
Beautiful and brutal. Sebastian<\/a> came here for the 3rd time. He loves the tough course and wanted to prove his abilities here, unfortunately he caught a cold on the trip and was not able to race.<\/p>\n

Sebastian so unhappy that he could not race.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

You can believe me, he was not amused at all. But one has to be careful if one is on the edge anyway. So we had to shift plans and covered the race in a different way. I enjoyed to ride on the course with my beautiful rented road bike (I never before was riding on such a delicate machine), 2 GOPROs fixed to it and my SONY camera in the backpack, quite a challenge. The video will follow.<\/p>\n

As usual when the race is over, we start packing and travel back home. It was a short but intense stay. We only survived this trip with our beloved BIEST BOOSTER<\/a>.<\/p>\n
