We got to know Juliano through Ronnie Schildknecht, 7 times winner of the IRONMAN Switzerland. Juliano and Ronnie are close friends. Juliano is based in San Diego, California and is also coaching Ronnie.
Being Brasilien he has got a kind of laid-back way of being that is not American. He is endowed with the outstanding ability to listen to people and never pushes himself in the front, not a common feature for an athlete.
Before Juliano became a coach he was a successful pro triathlete and before that he has been a successful swimmer. He says swimming came in somehow natural to him as child already. This gift was a good foundation for becoming a successful triathlete. With 22 he was already an IRONMAN finisher. It seems that he moved through life fairly fast making lots of experiences early on that allowed him to become a coach. For Juliano coaching is giving and in somehow is more rewarding for him than racing.
