IRONMAN@ World Championship, Kona 2015
During the 2 weeks before the big race the Pier in Kailua is more or less under control of triathletes from around the world. It feels a little bit like being on the catwalk as latest trend and fashion meet on very little space.
Nevertheless you find still niches where a completely other show is taking place, where nuances of the flair of the traditional Hawaii sneak through. In this short video clip you get an idea of the Hula, the Hawaiians way of telling stories. They talk with their whole body. Like this narratives survive from generation to generation. Ka’imi, the dancer you see, is more than 2 meters tall, but moves with an astounding grace and softness.
It was a great honor for us to get to know him and his group of musicians. You feel received with open arms and hearts. These people have a lot to give. Thanks again, guys!
