IRONMAN® World Championship, Kona 2015
The imaginations and associations people connect with Hawaii are the dark blue Pacific ocean with its fantastic sunsets, the palm trees along vast sand beaches of various colors, where turtles idle enjoy their sun bath, rain forests with impressing waterfalls and gigantic trees and last but not least the volcanoes and their lava fields from which the highest summits the islands emerged.
Our video clip sobers our fantasy and brings us down to earth. The side-effects of our civilized world are also visible in Hawaii.
Currently the Queen K highway is under construction, two more lanes are built. This highway is one of the main routes of the IRONMAN@ race course and bike training activities are high during the weeks before the race. The bikers, trucks and construction vehicles paint pictures full of contrasts and suspense. Riding the bike this year on the the highway’s shoulder needed you really to be focused.
