It was after our photo shooting in the energy lab when we did the recording of this talk. I think the energy lab is exactly the right spot to talk about the emotions that you are going through in a race of such extremes, the natural energy lab being the part of the run course where a lot of physical but especially mental strength is needed not to loose grounds on your competitors.
And even if the place is not the primary goal but finishing, this hot and barren area is mostly demanding for everybody.
I asked Rachel about the emotional extremes she went through in this race. I am convinced that what in the end remains beside all the figures, measurements, and the analyzing, are the emotions you will always remember. Whenever you recall the images of an experience so special, the emotions from back then will fully embrace you as if it were just happening right now…
Therefore we asked Rachel about the most intense moments she experienced. Perhaps we ask her in ten years again, and compare. Maybe an interesting experiment.
