Irene, the face for Vienna 2020

“I am happy, I am lucky”, this wonderful sentence Irene said to me when we both have been in Phuket, Thailand. I myself got to know her on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2017. This was the year when she decided to turn her life inside out. Meanwhile she became a very dear friend of mine.

Now, while I was thinking about BIESTMILCH’s campaign around the Vienna City Marathon, Irene with her straightforward smile and blue eyes literally jumped into my heart. She is my choice because I think she is able to reach people.

She inspired to the copy text: By endurance, courage and passion we change. These are the words she stands for for me.

Happiness became a rare good these days. We mostly complain, are in a bad mood, scared, unhappy, unsatisfied or depressed. In our Western world the depression is moving up to the first rank of diagnoses, a disastrous development.
Irene of whom I shot this short portrait in Phuket, Thailand is a real exception. I think she can be an inspiration. Her radiance is capturing. We two had wonderful harmonious days in Phuket, discovering the Island with our scooters. And all this in the midst of the friendly laid-back attitude of the Thai people.

Irene is a professional triathlete. After a very difficult life experiencing deep depression and unhappiness, she made a decision: to choose to do what she really loves, and this love is dedicated to the sport of triathlon.
Beside that she has an education as a triathlon coach giving her some independence of sponsors. She is a very caring coach, a human being who really cares about you. Her body feeling is exceptional.

And on top she is a precious BIESTMILCH evangelist too.

Susann is the biest prototype and head of the team. She is Austrian, has studied medicine, meaning she is a medical doctor and the Biesters' alpha wolf. Susann continuously produces new ideas, is strong in making concepts and is practically always ON FIRE. Without her BIESTMILCH wouldn't be where and what it is today, and anyway - not possible.
