Yesterday evening I went out with Moritz Martin http://www.olympic-windsurfing.de/. He is one of Germany’s top windsurfers and the first athlete who approached biestmilch for sponsoring in January, 2002. Moritz is already preparing and training for Peking 2008. Qualifying in this sport is a very tough game because there is only one athlete who is entitled to take part in the Olympic games 2008.
Moritz is an extraordinary person, only 23, he is intelligent, deliberate, authentic and no »mono-maniac«. He studies sports, economics and psychology. He does a lot for biestmilch, and, very important, he values biestmilch as part of his training concept. 
In this respect he lines up with Nicole Leder, Chris McCormack and Alex Taubert who are also real biestmilch proponents.
Through all these years we became very close. Yesterday while having dinner at our favorite Italien restaurant, sitting outside first time after an almost endless period of cold rainy weather. We were discussing a lot of things, one of them was doping. We raised the issue of substances ranging from conventional methods like steroids to gene doping, of testing that runs always behind with a considerable time-lag. We were argiung about moral aspect of fraud and health risks, about the many dead mediocre athletes nobody pays attention to. It was a discussion where at the end we had to give in and conclude that doping has and will always be a part of competition, and that a moral denunciation of athletes does not lead anywhere.
But how to cope with all this as an active athlete who cannot avoid to become suspicious after all these doping scandals that were revealed during the last months? Moritz said in the end: »You know, I started asking myself about close friends with extraordinary results, whether they dope. I shall never have an answer to that. I only know, I don’t want sports and success to become that important for me that I might consider doping as a possibility for me. Therefore my studies and brain work as such are so very central for my life.«
And what about the suspicion? »I have to live with it, and, be aware of the fact that also nice people dope!«
When I came home after this very relaxing evening and interesting discussion, and, when I wanted to start blogging, I had to realize that my computer, the centre of my life, my dope, had collapsed, and I almost with it. If things come to this point something goes wrong, one has to take care, addiction is enslaving regardless which one. This morning I ran 20 k and got rid of my hassles.
