Elija is one of the top German athletes in the 800 meters. He just won the North German Championships in the U20 class in Lübeck.

“After I had to experience many setbacks this year, I am finally getting into shape.
The North German championship title on the 800 meters in the U20 – the competition took place in Lübeck – gave me back my self-confidence. Now I am looking ahead with confidence. I notice clearly how I am actually improving every day in training.
I would like to briefly say something about my diet at this point, a nuance of change that – I believe – contributed to my comparatively quick recovery from the thigh injury I sustained at the German Youth Indoor Championships in December 2021, my Corona infection, and the cut on my foot that I unfortunately sustained at the training camp in Spain.
